Overview

The Senior Copywriter plays a key role in shaping brand narratives and developing strategically grounded content across assigned accounts. This individual transforms complex scientific and medical information into compelling, audience-focused communications that resonate with healthcare professionals and patients across digital and traditional channels.

Beyond strong writing capabilities, the Senior Copywriter brings curiosity, conceptual thinking, and a passion for solving communications challenges. Working independently while collaborating closely with Creative, Strategy, and Client Services teams, this role helps bring integrated campaigns and brand experiences to life through thoughtful storytelling, scientific rigor, and creative excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, compelling, and strategically grounded copy across a variety of print and digital channels, ensuring consistency with brand voice, messaging, scientific accuracy, and business objectives.
  • Translate creative briefs into engaging concepts, campaign ideas, and content solutions that align with brand strategy, scientific narratives, audience needs, and channel best practices.
  • Create and maintain copy documentation, including claims, references, annotations, and supporting materials for Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review and approval processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Strategists, and Client Services partners to develop integrated creative solutions that deliver impactful brand experiences.
  • Present creative work effectively to internal teams and clients, articulating strategic rationale and incorporating feedback while maintaining the integrity of the creative concept.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while delivering high-quality work on time and in compliance with regulatory and agency standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of copywriting experience within a healthcare advertising, pharmaceutical, or medical communications agency environment.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare marketing and promotional review processes, including scientific accuracy, claim substantiation, reference management, MLR review, and AMA style guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, engaging, and audience-focused communications.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, storytelling, and problem-solving skills with a passion for developing innovative creative solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and effectively incorporate feedback.
