Overview

About the Role

Moon Rabbit is looking for a proudly misfit Associate Creative Director, Art to help lead visual and design direction across our account roster. You'll partner closely with your ACD, Copy counterpart to develop concepts that are both strategically sound and visually distinctive — and you'll lead a team of art directors and designers to bring that work to life at a consistently high craft level.

Key Responsibilities

Creative (most crucial)

  • Partner with your Copy counterpart to develop unique, exciting, concepts, campaigns, and creative platforms from brief through final execution
  • Set and maintain the visual standard for your accounts — typography, layout, art direction, and overall craft
  • Take ownership of select projects start to finish, including hands-on design work when needed
  • Present creative concepts and rationale directly to clients, and manage feedback through to final production
  • Stay current on design trends, culture, and technology, and bring that thinking into the work

Leadership

  • Assign, mentor, and grow a team of art directors and designers — reviewing work, giving regular feedback, and supporting career development
  • Partner with resourcing/traffic to staff projects appropriately against team capacity and deadlines
  • Participate in creative reviews and hiring for the art team
  • Represent the agency's creative point of view in client meetings and, where relevant, new business

Collaboration

  • Work closely with strategy, account, project management, media and production to keep creative aligned to strategy and deliverable on time and on budget
  • Help develop and sharpen creative briefs before work kicks off, not just react to them

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 7–10+ years of art direction/design experience in a pharmaceutical agency environment, with several years in a leadership or mentorship capacity
  • A portfolio that shows range — concept development, craft, and the ability to lead a visual system, not just execute one
  • Strong presentation skills — you can sell an idea in the room, not just make it look good on the wall
  • Experience partnering with a copy counterpart in a true creative-pair model
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Design, Fine Arts, Advertising) or equivalent experience
